Section
Identification
A contact's forms of ID (driver's license, state ID, military ID), kept on file with the contact.
You'll find this section on a contact.
The Identification section records the forms of ID you have on file for a contact: driver’s licenses, passports, Social Security numbers, military IDs, green cards, bar numbers, or any other identifying document. A contact can have any number on file.
What an ID Records
- Method: what kind of ID it is. Anything you need: Driver’s License, Passport, Social Security Card, State ID.
- Identifier: the document’s number. This is sensitive by nature, so it’s stored encrypted in the database, and the field is marked with a lock.
- Issuer: who issued it (the Illinois DOT, Canada).
- Issued On / Expires On: the document’s dates.
- Additional Information: anything else worth noting, and the ID can carry photo attachments of the document itself.
The Client File
A contact’s identification is their own information, held by the firm, and part of what the client can always see. In the client portal it appears as “Forms of ID.”
Where You’ll See It
