Relationship Types
The familial relationship types (Mother, Father, Sibling) used when connecting contacts to each other.
You'll find this page in Settings under Contacts.
Relationship types are the familial links between contacts: Mother, Father, Sibling, Spouse. They’re what you choose from when adding a relationship on a contact, or a familial participant on a lead or case (see Relationships and Participants for how the two differ).
Opposites
Each relationship type has an opposite: the reciprocal type, shown in the list. Mother’s opposite might be Child; Spouse can be its own opposite. The opposite is what powers the reciprocal prompt in the app: record that Jane is Tom’s Mother, and Outlaw offers to record Tom as Jane’s Child on his contact page automatically. When you add your own types, define the opposite so both sides of the relationship stay connected.
Managing the List
A type that’s in use can’t be deleted, and duplicates can be combined with Merge (select more than one entry). This list holds only familial types; the legal roles people play on a case live on the Participant Roles page.
